49ers’ Brock Purdy impresses after gifting offensive lineman brand new cars for Christmas

San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Surprises Teammates with Luxury Cars for Christmas

Brock Purdy, the 24-year-old quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, pulled off an incredible surprise for his teammates this Christmas. Last year, Purdy made a joke about not being able to afford traditional gifts for his offensive lineman due to his rookie contract. However, this year, he made up for it by gifting each of them a brand-new car.

In a video shared by the team on social media, Purdy gathered his teammates and said, “Boys, I just want to say Merry Christmas. I got some gifts for you guys – sorry for the wait but if you want to follow me outside.” Curious, the team followed Purdy outside and were greeted by the sight of nine shiny new cars: five Toyota Sequoias and four Toyota Tundras.

The players couldn’t believe their eyes. Offensive tackle Nick Zakelj exclaimed, “Oh my god, I can’t believe this,” while guard Aaron Banks revved the engine and remarked, “Listen to the purr. Purdy, that purr is Purdy.” Offensive tackle Jaylon Moore was blown away by the gesture, saying, “My mind is blown, honestly. This is probably the greatest gift I ever got in my life.”

Purdy’s generous act follows in the footsteps of star running back Christian McCaffrey, who gifted the offensive linemen with custom golf bags, fitted golf clubs, and a bottle of tequila last season. It is not common for a non-quarterback player to make such lavish gifts, but Purdy wanted to show his appreciation for his teammates’ hard work.

Despite still being on his rookie deal, which pays him $985,000 this season, Purdy is expected to receive a massive payday soon. As the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, he surprised everyone during his rookie season by taking over as the starting quarterback after injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. He led the team to the NFC Championship before suffering a serious injury to his throwing arm. However, he made a successful comeback and led the Niners to the Super Bowl the following season.

Now, the 49ers are looking to secure Purdy with a lucrative long-term contract extension. Tight end George Kittle praised Purdy’s performance, stating, “I think Brock has done nothing but play at a very, very high level. The nice thing about contracts is when you play at a high level, you can compare yourself to other people in the league and when other guys are getting paid $50-60 million, and you’re a better quarterback than they are, it’s hard not to get that same amount of money.”

Purdy’s gesture not only showcases his appreciation for his teammates but also highlights his potential as a top-tier quarterback in the league. As the offseason approaches, all eyes are on the 49ers and their negotiations with Purdy for his well-deserved contract extension.
