Bizarre Heist in Colorado: Suspects on the Run After Stealing Bulldog Puppies Worth $4,299 Each
In a daring incident at Perfect Pets in Centennial, Colorado, multiple suspects executed a strange heist involving a clever distraction and the theft of two valuable bulldog puppies. The entire incident was captured on video, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
The Heist Unfolds
The theft took place on a Sunday afternoon when one of the suspects allegedly faked a seizure to divert the attention of the store workers. While the workers rushed to assist the seemingly distressed individual, an accomplice took advantage of the distraction and snatched two bulldog puppies worth $4,299 each from a display case.
The Capture and the Return
Thanks to the quick response from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect who faked the seizure was apprehended at the pet store. Timothy Davis, a 37-year-old man, was arrested and is now facing charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, theft, and drug possession. However, the other three suspects involved in the heist are still at large.
Fortunately, one of the stolen puppies was later returned to the store by a Good Samaritan. The woman had purchased the puppy for $1,500 from a street vendor in north Denver before realizing it was one of the stolen dogs. This act of kindness led to the reunion of the puppy with its rightful owners at Perfect Pets.
The Heist Caught on Camera
The surveillance footage of the incident reveals the sequence of events. As the male suspect faked a seizure, a woman, who appeared to be a mother with her two young children, along with a store employee, rushed to offer assistance. Meanwhile, another male suspect sneaked to the back of the store and swiftly grabbed the two puppies from the display case.
Chaos Ensues
Upon noticing the theft, one of the employees shouted in an attempt to stop the suspect. However, he managed to escape, knocking over another employee in the process. The suspect dropped the puppies while being tackled by the employee but quickly recovered, picked up the dogs, and fled the store with the help of another male accomplice.
The Getaway
To make their escape, the suspects hopped into a gold Cadillac Escalade with heavily tinted windows, which had pulled up in front of the store. The identity of the fourth suspect, the driver of the Cadillac, remains unknown, but authorities suspect it might be a female. The vehicle had no license plates, making it harder to track.
A Good Samaritan’s Act
News of the stolen puppies spread, and a compassionate individual who had seen the story on the news returned one of the dogs to the store. The Good Samaritan had recognized the puppy from the photos and immediately contacted Perfect Pets. The store expressed gratitude for the safe return of the puppy and plans to reward the woman for her help.
The Suspects at Large
Authorities have provided descriptions of two of the suspects still on the run. One is described as a black male wearing a large black coat and sweatpants. The other is described as a white or Hispanic male with brown hair, wearing a blue and white beanie-style hat. The gold Cadillac Escalade used in the getaway had no license plates and heavily tinted windows.
Perfect Pets: A Family-Run Business
Perfect Pets, the target of the heist, is an independent, family-owned, and operated pet store specializing in puppies. Bianca Larsen, the store manager, expressed her disappointment over the incident, revealing that she had plans to sell one of the stolen puppies to a friend and the other to a fellow pet store owner. Larsen lamented the fact that the stolen puppy would miss out on living a wonderful life with a deserving family due to the actions of individuals with no moral compass.
The investigation into the heist is ongoing, and authorities are determined to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
