Daniel Rezende will direct The Son of a Thousand Men, by Valter Hugo Mãe

The Son of a Thousand Menbook by the renowned Portuguese author Valter Hugo Motherwill win a film directed by Daniel Rezende (Monica’s Gang – Laços and Bingo).

The work, described as “a timeless and inspiring fable” by Rezende himself, tells the story of the fisherman Crisóstomo who, at age 40, decides to pursue his dream of becoming a father. When faced with a 14-year-old orphan, he forms an unconventional family, whose impact will change the lives of so many excluded characters.

Winner of the José Saramago award in 2007, Valter Hugo Mãe has already published six novels, such as The Spanish Making Machineas well as chronicles and poems.

The Son of a Thousand Men will have production from Bionics Films and Barry Company.
