Elizabeth Olsen reveals 'embarrassing' filming scene

Elizabeth Olsenthe MCU’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, revealed that the scene from Avengers: Infinity War where your character tries to save Vision (Paul Bettany) and ends up being defeated by Thanos (Josh Brolin) was “embarrassing” to film.

“I was like this [estende a mão, fingindo lançar poder através dela], thinking, ‘Ugh, I’m doing this in public’. I had to imagine that I was stopping the villain with an energy, while extracting a rock that wasn’t there from Paul’s face. [Bettany]. It needed to be painful and emotional,” she recalled.

Describing Bettany’s bizarre look on set (“face painted purple, with a coat of glitter”), Olsen continued, “A lot of things in these movies are kind of silly. I always think they should release a version without the special effects, so that everyone understands how ridiculous the actor feels, and how spectacular the job the technicians do.”

Avengers: Infinity War is one of six MCU films in which Olsen played Scarlet Witch. The actress was nominated for an Emmy for her performance as the character in WandaVision, and her most recent appearance was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
