I don't need to position myself, just be

Sandy, 40, is one of the main attractions of the GRLS Festival, which brings together women artists in São Paulo this Saturday (4). The singer commented on political positions in an exclusive conversation with splash.

She cited the lyrics of the song “Só Quero Ser”, released in November 2018 in partnership with Iza. The artist has never publicly supported a candidate.

“The lyrics say: ‘I don’t need to teach, preach, explain. I’m not here to set an example, nor looking for comfort. I don’t need to position myself or convince you. I just need to be’. It’s my position before politics, society , people and life”.

In the same year that the song was released, a montage circulated on social networks saying that the singer supported Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) candidacy for the presidency. Sandy’s team took a public position stating that the information was false.

“I live my political position in my days, in my actions. It is the most important thing of all. We need to be coherent and know how to position ourselves like this, just by exercising”, completed the singer.

‘Inspiration’

Physical therapist Marília Tadayeski, 29, and biologist Natália Pomelli, 29, went to the GLRS festival just to follow Sandy’s performance.

“She is an inspiration as a leader, woman, singer and mother. She is also a great professional”, said Marília in a conversation with Splash.

“She positions herself in a delicate but strong way. She is an empowered woman, who manages to convey what she wants. It is very fuck*, I have admired it since I was a child”, completed Natália in the sequence.
