Joe Rogan mocks Tim Walz as Democrats try to address struggles to with male voters

Podcaster Joe Rogan Takes Aim at Governor Walz and Democrats for Failing to Connect with Young Men

In a recent episode of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast “This is Gavin Newsom,” Minnesota Governor Tim Walz joined as a guest. The two governors discussed the Democratic Party’s struggle to appeal to young male voters. Walz suggested that his appeal to men may have been a reason why Republicans attacked him during his campaign, stating, “I think I scare them a little bit, [which is] why they spend so much time on me.” This remark was met with laughter from Newsom, but Walz stood by his statement, saying, “No, I’m serious, because I can fix a truck, they know I’m not bulls—-ing on this.”

However, podcaster Joe Rogan didn’t hesitate to mock Walz’s claim about being a threat to Republicans. Rogan questioned, “They’re scared of him because he could fix a truck?” He sarcastically ridiculed the idea that Walz’s masculinity was intimidating to conservatives, saying, “‘I know how to fix a truck.’ Do you? I bet you don’t! I bet if I bring a broken truck to you, and a bag of tools, you’re f—ed!”

Rogan’s guest, podcaster Chris Williamson, also joked about the Democrats’ attempt to use Walz to appeal to masculinity. Rogan agreed, stating, “Yeah, it’s so crazy. I think they’re lost. I mean, they’re also lost in that they can’t control the narrative anymore.”

The discussion then turned to the Democratic Party’s struggle to connect with young men. Rogan pointed out that liberal commentators have effectively labeled many masculine hobbies and interests as “right-wing.” He criticized the messaging, saying, “Anything masculine is ‘right-wing,’ anything – you cannot be masculine. Like, you cannot be interested in physical fitness, anything-” Williamson chimed in, mocking the same mindset, “‘It’s a pipeline to being right-wing.'”

Rogan further highlighted the absurdity of this perspective, stating, “Yes. You can’t like fast cars. You’re not even allowed to like Teslas anymore, which are the fastest cars. ‘You’re a misogynist, you’re probably racist, maybe a Nazi.'” It is clear that Rogan believes that such accusations are unfounded and only serve to alienate young men from the Democratic Party.

It is evident from this conversation that there is a growing disconnect between the Democratic Party and young male voters. The party’s inability to effectively address this issue and the trend of labeling masculinity as “right-wing” only exacerbates the problem. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how the Democrats will bridge this gap and appeal to a broader demographic.
