Paramore: Man kicked out of concert for harassment

A man was kicked out of a concert Paramoreon Tuesday (4), after women reported situations of harassment suffered on the spot. The information was shared by the band itself in an official statement, through the social networks. The case would have taken place in Salt Lake City, capital of Utah, in the United States.

“We were made aware of an incident that happened in the crowd while we were on stage,” wrote Paramore. “A man physically and verbally harassed several women, including an engaged couple on our show. Our security team and site personnel were alerted and were able to contain and remove him,” they explained.

THE band, formed by Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro, still made it clear that she was not informed about the case while she was performing. “The incident took place out of sight of the stage. If we had seen this happening, we would have stopped the show until the situation was under control,” she added.

The statement points out that Paramore does not accept cases of “violence, homophobia or any kind of intolerance”. The members apologized to fans who suffered harassment or who witnessed the situations during the show.

“To make things as clear as possible: Paramore shows are meant to be a safe place for people. If you can’t respect that, don’t come.”

With several dates sold out, the band’s new tour debuted on Sunday (2), in California. The show featured the first performance of Misery Business in four years. The presentations still precede the band’s next album, This Is Why, which will be released on February 10. The album’s title track was released last week and has already won a clip.
