Men Arrested for Trespassing on Nashville’s “Batman Building”
Three individuals were apprehended by the police in Nashville after an observant citizen called 911 to report seeing them at the top of the AT&T Building on Sunday. Known as “The Batman Building” due to its striking resemblance to the famous caped crusader, the iconic skyscraper was the scene of this daring trespassing incident.
A concerned witness, while at Garth Brooks’ bar, noticed the three suspicious-looking men on top of the building and promptly alerted the authorities. The caller described the situation, stating that it was unusual to see individuals on the tower part of the building on a Sunday.
Police officers were able to locate the men on the building using binoculars. One of the thrill-seekers was spotted near a spire, while another was seen lying down on the circular AT&T logo.
Despite officers and a police helicopter crew searching for them on the roof, the three men managed to evade capture. It wasn’t until a thorough floor-to-floor search that the officers found them hiding together in a locked stall in a men’s restroom on the 24th floor.
The men, identified as Jacob Thomas Cieszynski, Chase Cooper Lester, and Ryan James McGarrity, confessed to entering the building through an unsecured door. They now face charges of aggravated trespassing and disorderly conduct.
In addition to these charges, Lester is also accused of possessing burglary tools, as a crowbar and a screwdriver were found in his backpack. Several cameras, including a GoPro, were confiscated from the trespassers.
When questioned by the police, one of the men admitted that they had heard the AT&T Building offered the best view of Nashville, which motivated them to enter and climb the stairs to the roof.
Nashville Metropolitan Police Public Affairs Director, Don Aaron, commended the alert citizen who reported the suspicious activity, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in preventing such incidents.
