Queen releases new song in the voice of Freddie Mercury

O queen released, this Thursday (13), the track Face It Alone. The song, originally recorded for the album The Miracle (1989), was rediscovered by the band members and is sung by the singer himself. Freddie Mercury (1946-1991).

Roger Taylor and Brian Mayin an interview with BBC Radio 2 in June this year, stated that the song is “a Freddie’s Little Gem that we kind of forgot.” For years, Queen tried to restore the track, but only with current technology was it possible arrive at a result satisfactory enough to cast.

“It was kind of hidden in plain sight. We’ve looked at it many times and thought, ‘no, we can’t rescue that’. But, in fact, we entered [no estúdio] again and our wonderful engineering team said, ‘okay, we can do this and this. It’s like sewing pieces together,'” explained Brian May.

According to drummer Roger Taylor, the song is a passionate piece, with touching lyrics. The track did not appear on The Miracle, the band’s 13th album and penultimate before Freddie Mercury’s death, but is being released as a tribute to the musician’s legacy.

Queen also announced the release of a Collector’s version of The Miracle album. With unreleased tracks, the collection will have LPs, five different albums and even Blu-ray.
