The Sisterhood will feature Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson

THE HBO Max already defined the duo of protagonists of Dune: The Sisterhood. According to Deadline, the prequel series will star Emily Watson (Chernobyl) and Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter). The actresses will be Valya Harkonnen and Tula Harkonnen, respectively, that is, the Harkonnen Sisters, who rise to power thanks to a secret organization that will one day be known as the Bene Gesserit.

Therefore, the series will take place about 10 thousand years before the events of Dune: Part One, when the Harkonnen Sisters face a danger that threatens the future of humanity.

Diane Ademu-John, from Empire and The Haunting of Bly Manor, will write The Sisterhood, and will also serve as showrunner for the production. Director of the adaptation released in 2021, Denis Villeneuve will be credited as an executive producer.

In Dune, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) is an aristocrat whose family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis, producer of a valuable resource and disputed by several noble families. He is forced to flee into the desert — with the help of his mother — and joins nomadic tribes, eventually leading them because of his advanced mental abilities.

Filming for Dune: Part 2 has already begun filming, and is scheduled for release in October 2023.
